The details of the surgery were not disclosed. There is an interesting story behind his foot injury. Geraldo sued HSS for improper surgery, which led to foot pain.

Why did Geraldo Rivera Leave Fox News?
In June 2023, Rivera left the Fox News talk show, The Five. Later on, he revealed in a video why he left the show. He said
“I’m not going to be on ‘The Five,’… I’ve been fired from ‘The Five’… And, as a result of that, I quit Fox.”
The Fox News spokesperson explained, “We reached an amicable conclusion with Geraldo over the past few weeks”.
